Terms of Service

1. Agreement to these Terms

These Terms govern your access to and use of HavenDossier, including its website, accounts, evidence storage, AI-assisted observations, reports, subscriptions, and one-time Case Packages. By creating an account or using HavenDossier, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy and AI & Evidence Disclaimer. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Eligibility and account security

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to create an account. You must provide accurate account information and use an email address you control. You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for activity under your account. Notify HavenDossier promptly at support@havendossier.com if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.

3. Your content and evidence

You retain ownership of the photos, videos, documents, statements, and other materials you upload. You grant HavenDossier a limited license to host, store, process, reproduce, transmit, and format that content as reasonably necessary to operate the service, provide requested features, perform requested AI analysis, generate reports, maintain security, troubleshoot problems, and comply with law.

You represent that you have the right to upload and use the content you submit and that doing so does not violate another person's rights or applicable law. You are responsible for the accuracy of information you enter and for complying with laws that may apply to photographs, recordings, documents, personal information, or other evidence you collect or upload.

Keep original records when they are important to you. HavenDossier should not be your only copy of irreplaceable evidence.

4. AI-assisted observations

HavenDossier may use artificial intelligence to describe visible information in evidence you submit for analysis. AI output can be incomplete, inaccurate, or misleading and is not a diagnosis, inspection, expert opinion, or professional conclusion. You are responsible for reviewing AI observations before approving or relying on them. Approval means you chose to include the observation in your HavenDossier record; it does not make the observation an expert finding or independently verified fact.

5. Reports and evidence packages

HavenDossier reports organize information supplied or approved by you. They do not establish authenticity, causation, damages, code violations, legal liability, warranty coverage, insurance coverage, or the outcome of a dispute. A court, insurer, builder, contractor, regulator, attorney, or other recipient may accept, reject, or give different weight to a HavenDossier report. You are responsible for deciding when, where, and with whom to share a report.

6. Plans, subscriptions, Case Packages, and payments

Available features, capacity, and plan limits are described on HavenDossier's pricing or plans page and may include technical and reasonable-use limits. Pro subscriptions renew at the billing interval selected at checkout until canceled. You can manage or cancel an active subscription through the billing portal made available in HavenDossier. Cancellation generally prevents future renewal, while paid access may continue through the applicable paid billing period as shown in the billing portal.

Case Packages are one-time purchases that apply to the selected issue and do not convert the remainder of an account to Pro. Applicable prices and included features are shown before purchase. Payments are processed through HavenDossier's payment service provider. Unless required by law or expressly stated otherwise at purchase, fees already paid are non-refundable. This does not limit rights that cannot legally be waived.

Prices and plan features may change from time to time. Changes affecting an existing paid subscription will be handled in accordance with applicable law and the billing terms presented to you.

7. Acceptable use

Do not use HavenDossier to upload unlawful material, infringe another person's rights, impersonate another person, distribute malware, attempt unauthorized access, bypass account or plan limits, interfere with the service, falsify records for fraudulent purposes, or use the service to threaten, harass, defraud, or unlawfully harm another person. We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect users or the service, investigate suspected misuse, enforce these Terms, or comply with law.

8. HavenDossier intellectual property

HavenDossier and its software, branding, interfaces, designs, text, and other service materials, excluding content uploaded by users, are owned by HavenDossier or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms give you a limited right to use the service for its intended purpose; they do not transfer ownership of HavenDossier's technology or branding to you.

9. Third-party services

HavenDossier relies on third-party providers for functions such as infrastructure, authentication, storage, payment processing, transactional email, and requested AI processing. Those services may be subject to their own terms and privacy practices. HavenDossier is not responsible for third-party products or services that are outside its reasonable control.

10. Availability and changes

We may maintain, improve, modify, or discontinue features and may impose reasonable technical or security restrictions. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. Where practical and legally required, material changes affecting paid features will be communicated through the service or account contact information.

11. No professional advice; emergencies

HavenDossier is not a law firm, engineering firm, inspection company, insurance adjuster, emergency service, or substitute for a qualified attorney, licensed contractor, engineer, inspector, insurance professional, medical professional, emergency responder, or other appropriate expert. If a condition may present an immediate safety risk, contact the appropriate emergency service or qualified professional rather than relying on HavenDossier. Do not delay necessary protective or emergency action while creating a HavenDossier record.

12. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, HavenDossier is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties not expressly stated in these Terms. HavenDossier does not warrant that AI output, reports, stored records, or other service results will be accurate, complete, accepted by a third party, or suitable for a particular dispute or purpose.

To the extent permitted by law, HavenDossier and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or relating to use of the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or consumer rights that applicable law does not permit us to exclude or limit.

13. Account termination and data

You may stop using HavenDossier at any time and may request account and applicable data deletion by contacting support@havendossier.com. We may suspend or terminate access for material violation of these Terms, security threats, fraud, unlawful use, nonpayment where applicable, or where required by law. Certain information may be retained when reasonably necessary for legal obligations, transaction records, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, backup processes, or enforcement of these Terms, as further described in the Privacy Policy.

Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, including ownership provisions, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and applicable payment obligations, will survive.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as HavenDossier evolves. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated when required by applicable law. Continued use after an updated version becomes effective may be subject to any additional consent required by law.
